Catatan Pesta Buku KL 2009

Saban tahun ia semakin sarat. Hmmm... bilakah Pusat Konvensyen Kuala Lumpur akan menjadi tuan rumah? 2010? 2011? 2015?

Last Monday our group went to Pusat Serenti BM to see what's happening in drug rehab programme. We need it to make our Psychiatry postings more holistic... you know the 'BIOPSYCHOSOCIAL' has become the buzzword. Anyway, it was a visit to remember!

We managed to witness the 'Morning Meeting' in front of our very eyes (and ears), before we had a briefing with the Pusat Serenti admin. Later, all of us got a chance to clerk an inmate to brush up our skills.

What really strikes me until now is how the inmates conduct their 'Morning Meeting'. As part of the therapy (behaviour modification, that sort of thing), few of them were allowed to stand up and address the whole community about all the violations and mistakes the inmates did recently.

Well, like our Surgery proforma, they have their own skeleton to adhere to:

The Incident or KEJADIAN
Semalam ada satu insiden telah berlaku. Ada satu baldi terendam baju dan seluar dari hari Jumaat hingga hari Ahad. 3 hari 3 malam! Saya hendak ahli keluarga yang terlibat bangun sekarang!

Apa punya sikap? Ini tidak bertanggungjawab! Tak prihatin! Pemalas! Ha, yang senior pun sama saja. Dah nak keluar (dari Pusat Serenti) pun sama juga. Apa? Rendam lama hendak buat jerukkah?

The Consequences or AKIBAT
Kesannya, ahli family lain tak dapat nak guna baldi. Baju pun tak boleh pakai sebab tengah rendam. Inilah dia sikap tak bertanggungjawab!

Rekindle the olden days or KAIT MASA SILAM
Kait masa silam, kita dulu mana ada nak basuh baju. Seluar seminggu tak basuh sedap saja pakai. Kita sibuk duduk high saja dengan dadah. Itulah masa silam! Sekarang kita dah ada di sini, kenalah belajar balik jadi orang. Kita boleh berubah!

On another note, I will be seating for my Lembaga Akreditasi Negara / MQA classes on Islamic Studies beginning today, as I have not done the module in my pre-uni courses. Oh well. 

FYI, there were only 3 of us - the teacher, and 2 students!

Setelah beberapa lama akhirnya saya akan pulang ke kampung (walaupun ia Kampung Pandan Dalam). Hujung minggu ini akan saya penuhi, salah satunya dengan menziarahi Pesta Buku Antarabangsa Kuala Lumpur di Pusat Dagangan Dunia Putra. 

Kawan-kawan ada yang cadangkan buku-buku? Aiya, habislah duit aku...

Earth Hour

Ketika 'Earth Hour', fikiranku melayang sejenak ke Hisarlik (Troy), Turki, yang pernah aku ziarahi dulu. Dek kecuaian, aku terkandas keseorangan di tapak arkeologi bersejarah tersebut tatkala senja mula menyapa. Bas terakhir baru saja berlalu pergi... aaa sudah.

Dalam kehampaan, aku berhenti melangkah dan menatap langit. Baru kusedar yang inilah pemandangan yang kucari-cari!

Seolah-olah aku sedang mengemudi Millenium Falcon atau Prometheus, sambil melabuhkan pandangan ke luar tingkap...
