i look, i forget, i look again, i forget again, i inspect, i recite it loud, i write it down, i remember... heh!
Ramadhan kembali lagi...
(dengan nada paket mainan Tora)
Hakikatnya, pantas sungguh masa berlalu. Ramadhan yang sudah, sudahlah. Ramadhan kali ini? Sama saja? Atau makin [isi adjektif di sini]?
Oh ya, tahun ini, tiada lagi dialog-dialog sebegini:
"Ibu, Dublin mula berpuasa lusa."
"Eh, kalian mula berpuasa esok atau lusa?"
"Haa... malam ini Masjid X mula solat terawih. Masjid Y esok."
...
Bulan Ramadhan bulan dipermudahkan doa. Dari doa aktiviti harian hinggalah doa tentang masa depan...

// Malam Seni Islam, Perhimpunan Musim Bunga PPIMI, ICCI Clonskeagh, Ireland, March 2004. Kumpulan An-Nur, dan Kumpulan Al-Badar.
From left:
Al-Badar (percussionists) - Yours truly (tamborine), Zulfaka (1st kompang), Shazrul (2nd kompang), Azli (turkish drum), and Khamizi (djembe).
An-Nur (singers) - Abang Kuyie (lead 1), Hazim (mid), Zikri (lead 2), Ghani (bass), and Mustaza (lead 3).
Back then, it was quite an effort - had to borrow the djembe from a senior (Zain, then Final Med RCSI), and the turkish drum from Alestat (my classmate); followed by a bit of practice at Malaysia Hall... haha we were superbly rookies...
Hmmm... sometimes we can have all the equipment, but if there are no people, macam mana ya?
Mencari Jalan Pulang

Naik ke Jalan Tun Razak
Susur masuk ke Lebuhraya Bertingkat Ampang-Kuala Lumpur (AKLEH)

Last week, PMC ISOC launched 'English Language Mentor-Mentee' with Penang Free's Form 1. Suddenly I feel young at heart... yeah right. More than 10 years gap. So it was more of a 'teacher-pupil' relationship I think.
// Wow, I don't think my brain is still up for this... goodbye my arithmetics...
// Hmmm... it does make sense to me...
// Mujaheed and Ahmad - doing the grouping...
// Cikgu Omar - "Okay beres, let's get moving!"
//Giving them a big hand...
// The trio from my group.
// Cheerful faces from Hannah's and Hajar's.
// The supper... Penang Free's dining hall definitely way better than SMAPK's during my days.
// All the sweet Cikgus, oopps I mean my PMC classmates.
Puisi: 'Sepeda'
memang bukan salahku
tapi kasihan
dahulu sepedamu itu bertuah
kau kayuh ke masjid
yang katamu
jauhnya tujuh minit.
Sekarang sepeda penuh jasa
sudah dicuri malam
entah disorong orang ke mana
Marilah doa bersama -
sepeda sudah tidak berjodoh denganmu
tapi biarlah tuan baharunya,
seperti engkau juga
mengayuh ia ke tempat mulia
meskipun gereja.

Zhangjiachuan... hmmm
Now I am working on the write ups - reports, reflections, and photoessays...

On top of that, there will be a short documentary to follow. This is my first project... now I understands what it takes to be an indie filmmaker. Mastering the editing softwares - Sony Vegas, Final Cut Express, Premiere dan banyak lagi is relatively easy. Conceptualising your own story is the hardest part. Ok berusahalah!
"Find Me in Zhangjiachuan" - STATUS: IN PRODUCTION
To be released in October 2008
Director/Writer: Abadi Sufaat
Production Team: Mission To China committee members
Featuring: Mariah Mah and Abdullah Yang
Duration: 45 minutes
Shooting format: DV & HDV

Heh, kelakar pula. Sewaktu menulis untuk "Find Me in Zhangjiachuan", berangan-angan pula nak buat dokumentari yang lain tentang PMC. Ishh ishh ishh... bersyukurlah dengan apa yang ada...
The Day

Instead of driving up to Penang, and make a big hole in my wallet...

I'd rather take a busflight (the coach was superfast... it was bloody 140km/h!), before catching up on a spaceship (is it Millenium Falcon? or Enterprise?) ... ooppss the Penang Ferry, to attend this special ceremony.

Yes, our Chief Minister, YAB Lim Guan Eng was there. I told you this is a very special ceremony, but why suddenly he was quite shy with camera? Haha.

One person, many smiles and happiness. It is the very nature of medical profession, is it not? Congratulations Dr Wei Sern!

Quoting from the Talley O'Connor,
"This is not the end. It is not even a beginning of an end. Aisemen, lupa pula."
Proper entry will follow soon. All the photos will be up before Wednesday...
Mission To China
When this project was mooted by Najmi, honestly I was full of skeptics. You know the typical responses - “Oh really… Great… Why not?”. Oh well.
Not to say that is quite impossible, but as goes the saying - when ther is a will, there is a way. I then agreed to join in.

The Good Earth by Pearl S Buck. Yup, I've watch the film too!
My first encounter with China began a long time ago. It was Pearl S. Buck’s masterpiece that set me in. “The Good Earth” was one of many efforts to illustrate the China to people all around the globe, and it is still of my favorite read. Special thanks to Cikgu Zaiton, back in SMAPK (hmmm... masih bertugas di sanakah?) No wonder he won the 1938 Nobel Prize in Literature.
Now, my job for the team is simple on the paper, but horrendously challenging to get it finished. Yup... to document the mission in a creative way - writings, photos, and videos. Hey, I’m no Dato’ Kadir Jasin or Zan Azlee, two of which I wish I could have their bronze statues in my kitchen, so feel free to leave comments and criticisms (or even sarcasms) so that I could improve on and on and on. Yup, I will give my best shot… insha Allah.
Hence, let's tune up our intention to the correct radio station... hmmm okay cranking up the dial..bzzt zzztttt. Voila! Now intention is loud and clear. Correct correct correct.........
Oh, by the way, there's another fraternity - Asyhraff, Nik Farhan and Johan, who are going to China as well, albeit on a different aims and plans. Contact acabeire@gmail.com, eh?
...
And then we have PROTES and GERAMM on July 6. Whereabout? I think it will held in PJ, close to Amcorp Mall or something. Check them out at www.geramm.org, will you?
Please note, PETRONAS is not in the blamestorming session. It's the weak governance that does all the mess. It is really pitiful to see MPs (wow even PAS pun blast sekali!), well put whatever verbs that suits you. Heh what a jest. Go Tan Sri Hassan Merican!
Meantime, this fella by the name of Saiful Bahari dropped a dud. Heh, c'mon... backdoor entry is really bland now. Why not having something bizarre like hmmmm... I don't know. What a minute, I am in Malaysia now, so thought process has to be different... haha. I have no inkling - whose game is it, but certainly it is a failed launch (definitely the level of 'lame' is comparable to big-flop Maxis' Streets of Simcities).
...
Now, for the Mas Idayu and err... who was another singer? Gosh, I am so lagging behind in our very own music industry. Almost lack of 'soul'... you know the 'Zen' kind of music, and music that moves people. Anyone remember Rage? I do.
Anyway, kopiahs and songkoks off (not tudung okay... don't get too excited, it is aurat!) for those who voiced out their concerns. A good action, as well as a good PR. I mean public relations. Too bad there are too many spin doctors around. Ohh baby, baby, it's a wild world...
Mentioning about PR, I suppose those in Media Studies are more proficient and yes, more analytical on information issued in the press statement. In the field of Medicine, they call it 'The Art of Breaking The News'. Bad news can be a good news, and otherwise.
Aiya. It is time.
3 in a row
// In the morning I had Long Case. Phew. Late afternoon? 14th SMMAMS conference BBQ. What a conspiracy... haha. I was really surprised. Thanks!
Saturday
// The first meeting. The rest is here - http://www.missiontochina.com. Then lunch at Line Clear (Yes the one that goes straight into your coronary arteries).
Sunday
// Ziarah Pesakit by JIM and Badan Kebajikan Hospital Pulau Pinang. yup, we should be an Instrument of Mercy...
Monday?
Kuliah Maghrib at Jelutong. We're having Ustaz Sobri (yup, he's that guy!) and I can't wait to be there!
A Quick Break...
// Syafiq, the blue jersey gue led the recitement of Surah Yasin. Yes, all these guys were reciting straight from the heart - a criterion of eligible bachelor, eh? Oh, that Sarsi was deliberately uncapped.
//'Tuan Rumah', Dr Mustaza was praying for pristine blessing upon all of us...
//To my right... from left Amir, Hazim, Nuzul, Nik Farhan. Hmmm that pink banner looks lovely. Heh, I have an idea...
//Next to me on the right, Johan. Besides him is Asyhraff. To left (err... I forgot to snap the photo out), Izwan Ismail.
Later we hit the Seraya Fajar for Nasi Lemak before watching Euro 2008. Surprisingly Tokwan and Aimad were there - they just finished their 'on-call'. Asyhraff and I then had a meal before leaving minutes before half past eleven... we have exams coming!
...
Dato' Fadzil Noor. It's been 6 years. Fauzan and I was walking home from Leeming Shopping Centre when I received a SMS notifying his demise. What a seismic shock!
Read on the obituary here.
Good good good

// View the full comic here. http://picasaweb.google.com/abadisufaat/komikSPB
Then I received a SMS - my little sister is going to UKM doing Geology. What a timely news. Heh. I hope she'll be doing her job finding more oil for Malaysia. Good no 2.
The final good thing - I'm sharing "The Good Earth" by Pearl S. Buck with you, yes all the readers of this lame blog. It remains one of my favourite classics - plenty of morale values abound!
The car is coming around the corner, fast!
//All of A3, minus Durga, at Seberang Jaya Hospital. From left -Hijaz, Fazrin, Nicholas, Asyhraff, Hanif, Azrol, Khairul Din.
//Okay, that's me, the first on the left.
