Guess what I'm surprised at? Typed abadi in Google.com and found loads of people named Abadi too. Here's some example:

Danesh Abadi - graphic designer

Shahid Akhbar Abadi - name of a teaching hospita in Iran, I bet it must be named after a great doctor

Martin Abadi - a researcher in computing I think

Professor Abadi - Ophthalmologist at Royal Eye Hospital, Manchester UK <---- he's closest to me from Dublin
