Well, getting Hijabbed (even in OT) is definitely one of the fundament principles that can't be trade off - of course strict precautions to combat MRSA and what not are to be adhered too. That's why we have this 'sterile hijab' back home - everyone is happy then, since the Deen is protected (thanks Ariff Fahmi for reminding me about that Maqasid thing) and at the same time we are in compliance to the infection control guidelines. All in all, we're doing both - for Allah's interest and that of patient.
Oh yes, don't forget UNDHR eh?
Hopefully new developments soon will unfold and this issue ends peacefully. Please help us Ya Ilahi...

do you know that UIA 've designed full cover OT suit?...it looks like astronout. ALhamdulillah, but its not commercially used by others yet _ i think so
this is not only an issue for medical student...it is also ours (nurses) =)
